This little teddy girl is named Christmas Carol,
she loves Christmas and all the magic it brings.
. . .
Hidden way back in the closet, behind the box of baby things and toys, was an old red paperboard suitcase, filled with childhood memories of long ago.
Inside little Carol was patiently waiting for Christmas...it seemed like it had been a very long time since she had been put away with the special holiday bits and pieces.
Do you have a place for her and her friends to spend the holidays with you?
. . .
Carol is fully jointed and made of hand dyed mohair in a lovely warm shade of golden yellow. She is about five and 1/2 inches tall, and has a waxed nose like an antique teddy.
She has wool felt paw and foot pads and wears a dress made of a vintage silk handkerchief. Her feather wings are tied on with an ivory ribbon and her golden halo is attached to the wings.
Raggedy Ann is unjointed, 3 1/4 inches tall, and she is made of cloth like the traditional Annie, but not by Knickerbocker.
The Raggedy Cat at 4 inches is made of mystery fur and not jointed.
They will arrive with all the items seen in the photos including the wonderful vintage cardboard fireplace with Santa holding the tiny white bottle brush tree.
The child's red cardboard suitcase is 8 by 12 inches and along with the fireplace, holds the Japan labeled red bead garland, wonderful old red tinsel trim, silver Victorian grapes, real photo postcard and much more.
The winning bidder will receive a memory album of all the photos, including many that aren't on this page.
The bear, cat and doll were designed and created entirely by me, Gretchen McKillip. I have been sewing as long as I can remember and making collectable Artist Teddy Bears and their friends for over a decade. My work has appeared in numerous international publications where I have won many awards including nomination for the TOBY along with an invitation to the sadly canceled Smithsonian Teddy Bear Centennial Celebration.
